Westport Triathlon
Saturday 16th June 2018
The Westport Triathlon is a sprint distance triathlon based around Westport and Clewbay. The race is in its 8th year now and it is getting more and more popular. The 750m swim is based around the point in Westport. This is followed by a 20km cycle on a back route along the coast road to Croagh Patrick, hopefully you will be able to take in the stunning views of Clew Bay on the way, the final stage is a 5km run through the grounds of Westport House.

Westport Sea Angling Festival
22nd – 24th June
Westport Sea Angling Festival was was established in 1956 and immediately broke all records in fishing terms and in the clientele it attracted. Westport Quay buzzed with the many languages of the anglers of many nations who came in great numbers year after year to do battle with the fish in Clew Bay.

The Carrowniskey Races

Start your summer on Sunday 25th June at 12pm with a day at the Carrowniskey Races and family fun day. There will be ten races on the beach, two local races for horses and ponies and eight MHPRA races. There will be bookies on the day to have a bet. Lots of family fun and entertainment for everybody on the day with a bouncy castle, ice cream van, food and drink stalls, public bar and dancing. New this year there will be a bicycle race and wife carrying competition.
